BARBARA BREWSTER – PRESIDENT

Meet the guiding force behind our firm. Occasionally tough, always sincere & generous, juggler of life extraordinaire, and unabashed Chocoholic, Barbara sets the tone for a strong and happy team with high standards. She moved from a small NH town making Frederick County her home and worked at Linton, Shafer & Co., CPA firm, while raising her family and earning her degree in Business Management. She has been the well-respected head of the company for over 30 years.

Barbara is not all business, though. Family is her cornerstone. She enjoys volunteering for children’s charities, hiking and exercise with friends, bike rides along the tow path, and spending time in the garden. She resides in Middletown with her husband, Calvin.

DENISE GOUKER – MANAGER OF ACCOUNTING SERVICES

With a passion for purple and unwavering sense of humor, Denise has been a great asset to our firm for over 13 years. A QuickBooks Pro Advisor, Denise’s accounting knowledge and expertise make her a valued resource to her clients. While well versed in many types of businesses, Denise has extensive experience with restaurants and non-profits.

Though serious about her work, Denise loves a good prank, tasteful bling and keeps a light-hearted perspective about her family, dogs, and life in general, whatever it may bring. She lives in Middletown with husband, Curtis and two of their four children.

TERESA PLUMLEY

Teresa joined us in 2006 with a varied work history including a police department, real estate and job costing. Her diverse background, 30 years of bookkeeping experience, and warm, no-nonsense approach to problems has made her the trusted go-to gal for many of our long-term clients. She works with several Homeowner associations, Attorneys and Service businesses.

Quite the energizer bunny, somehow she still manages to help family, friends and church, spend time with her husband, Steve, at their lakeside camp, and tend to wonderfully fragrant heirloom roses. She lives in Adamstown.

HEATHER BRADY-SINNOTT

We were very fortunate when Heather decided to become part of the group in 2008. Though she is the junior member in age, she quickly became one of our most capable bookkeepers. She excels in troubleshooting problems and ‘clean up’ of new clients. She has a degree in Accounting and is a Certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor. Her knowledge and skills combined with a positive attitude, quick smile and meticulous work means Heather is assigned some of the most challenging jobs. She readily juggles work in the office and at client locations for attorneys, restaurants, medical practices and non-profits.

In off hours, Heather is devoted to her husband, Quinton and their two precocious girls. They enjoy family projects, sports, and tending their dog, chickens and ducks in Westminster.

WENDI DARR

Wendi, Wendi, Wendi… loves her children, Minions, googley eyes, her many furry friends and, need it be said, Chocolate. Her calm demeanor, wryly humorous perspective, and ready laugh make her a natural choice for our front woman. Since coming on board in 2013, Wendi has become much more than a welcome face and smiling voice on the phone. She hails from Utah where she worked for the IRS and then owned a business here in MD. Her competency and versatility is evident as she multi-tasks at the front desk, working with clients and supporting our staff.

Wendi lives in Middletown with husband Jim, while missing daughter Haley and junior golf pro Jake, both off at college. She’s a crafter at heart and has an eye for ‘fabulous’!

TARA RICHARDS

Tara started with ASS in 2002 when we were developing software for accountants. After several years, she left to work as bookkeeper for various clients and officially returned to the fold in 2014. She is working with nonprofits and service businesses and has taken on special projects including conversions, job costing and inventory for our clients. She is a Certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor and manages the company’s professional relationships and promotional activities.

Tara’s off hours are filled with smells of cooking, dirt from her garden and birdsong from the woods near her home in Jefferson where she lives with her guy, Pat.

LYNN DRUMMOND

The newest and very welcome addition to our firm, Lynn has jumped right in and taken on a full client work load. Lynn hails from Pittsburgh with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and seven years of accounting experience. She is working with clients in QB desktop and online. You’ll find her very capable, ready to troubleshoot problems and easy to work with.

Lynn lives in Frederick with husband, Kareem and their two children, Tay and Trinity. Lynn’s love of sports becomes even more obvious when she is coaching. Go Team!
